Nijmegen

The oldest city in The Netherlands. A sparkling University City , full of art and culture, with a large shopping centre and with many pubs and restaurants on the riverside. The annual high point being "de Vier Daagse van Nijmegen" ( The Nijmegen Marches) and the associated festival , which finds place in the third week of July.

The Ooijpolder

The Ooijpolder consists of two nature reserves , The Gelderse Poort and The Millingerwaard these are two unique examples that let one see how rich the flora and fauna of a well preserved nature reserve of several thousand hectares can be. A perfect location for both cyclists and ramblers , the region includes many more cycling and walking routes both in and around the nature reserves.


Germany

Millingen an de Rijn is situated on the German border. With bicycle it is possible to visit many villages in the area. Cities such as Kleve , Emmerich am Rhein and Bocholt are just a short car drive or bicycle ride away.
